We had another awesome night at Beechwood's Case Maker Academy this week. Seventeen cadets learned the important skill of listening when considering eye witness testimony. Chapter six taught them how to "Hang on Every Word". This skill was used to examine the evidence found in the gospel of Mark that shows the author's close relationship to the apostle Peter. Our cadets learned that the historical events recorded in the gospels are the eye witness testimonies of people who saw Jesus' ministry and miracles, and not just stories written by people decades or centuries later. All made great efforts in our team challenge, and Team 2 won the competition (Ben, Kate, Reid, and Camille).
Also, we discussed the meaning of Palm Sunday. One of our youngest cadets, Liza Pierce, impressed us all with her knowledge of the triumphal entry. This significant event was recorded in all four gospels and was prophesied by Zechariah: "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!
Shout in triumph, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; He is just and endowed with salvation, humble, and mounted on a donkey, even on a colt, the foal of a donkey" (Zech. 9:9).
We hope our cadets and their families have a joyous and blessed Easter as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We look forward to seeing you all again for our adult Bible study of the gospel of Luke and our Kid's Bible Study as we continue with chapter seven.
Blessings,
Amy Warren
