Our Champion Bermuda greens don’t like this cold weather. To protect our greens from winter injury it is necessary to keep play off the greens when they are covered in frost or frozen. Most mornings, when the high for the day is in the upper 40’s or in to the 50’s, we might have a slight frost delay. Usually we can get you out there around 9:30 or 10:00am. This week will be a little different.
This week the temperature Tuesday night will drop down in to the low 20’s. The high Wednesday won’t get to 40 degrees. With colder soil temperatures going into Tuesday, this situation creates the perfect environment for winter kill. We will be covering our most exposed greens to protect them from the weather. They will need to remain covered all day Wednesday.
In summary, this week, will be closed due to low temperatures all day Tuesday and Wednesday. The range will be open during this time, but not the putting and chipping greens. We will open Thursday for regular play as soon as the frost clears.
This is the first time we will cover greens this winter, but it will not be the last. Please check with Golf shop if you think the weather is questionable, and check your email for updates. We will do our best to keep you informed of weather related closings.
